What is AWS?
Amazon Web Services or AWS is an all-inclusive cloud computing platform. A subsidiary company of Amazon.com Inc, it was launched in March 2006. AWS consists of over 100 different cloud computing products and services covering areas like Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Packaged software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) are two of the core IaaS services offered by AWS. Some of the well-known AWS products and services are Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC), Amazon CloudFront, Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS), Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) and Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS).
